As you know, we were facing some challenges at our Beatrice container plant. We knew that our cost per unit and inventory costs were out of line and impacting our competitive position but at the same time we had a morale issue that needed to be addressed just as urgently.
Everest Consulting Group's leadership during, Kaizen events and assistance in implementing, lean thinking on the shop floor has had a direct impact in these key targeted areas. Following the events our unit per day productivity increased 64% on our main line and our inventory has dropped 15%. Orders are being released to the floor in days from what previously took weeks. Introducing 5S has organized the work areas and helped us achieve these results. The employees are now focused on being productive and have bought into the concept that they have a role in our success and are pitching in. Morale has improved significantly. On my last visit to the plant I couldn't believe it's the same place I visited just 3 months earlier.
